Why Nachos are the BEST Snack?
No seriously, they are!
Whenever I’m craving an afternoon snack, or a late night snack…let’s be real here…whenever I’m craving ANY kind of snack, my mind immediately goes to nachos.
First off, Nachos have everything you could want in just one dish: chips, cheese, protein (if that’s your vibe), and vegetables. My roommates and I are obsessed with them, and it’s not just because two out of the four of us work at Mexican restaurants. Nachos are totally customizable and make for a great shareable plate.
As a very type A individual, one would think that I would be horrified at the idea of something so messy, but that’s what makes them so fun. The crunchy, gooey messy almost makes it taste better.
Secondly, nachos are the kind of food you can bond over. Give me a plate of nachos and a margarita and I will be sat for the next 45 minutes. Whenever my friends and I visit our roommate at work or go to happy hour, the nachos are the first thing we order. The conversation is always good over nachos, and if it’s the right size plate, they go on forever.

Furthermore, nachos are the quintessential bar snack, always showing up alongside a cold beer whenever "the game" — whatever that game may be — is on. Win or lose, everything is alright because you're snacking on nachos.
What’s also appealing is that nachos are allergy-friendly. Are you gluten-free like me? Don’t worry because the majority of tortilla chips are gluten free. Dairy-free? Don’t worry, grocery stores now sell dairy free cheese.
Nachos are inclusive, which tends to make them a big hit. Did I mention we are having a self-serve nacho bar at our graduation party?
Finally, nachos aren’t just limited to the “regular” toppings. Recently while scrolling on social media, I have come across different takes on nachos. I’ve seen nachos using pickle chips, charcuterie nachos–which I am dying to try–and more.
